The Plantation

The Middleton Plantation
By today’s standards the landowners truly were wealthy in terms of the massive properties they owned.
The tour of the plantation was split into three sections.  Here we are waiting under the shade of this mammoth live oak for our guide to give us the most fascinating dialogue on the historical portion of the tour.
A very hot and humid day it was, and I might be delusional to imagine that there quite possibly also was a breeze to cool us off!
The garden/botanical part of the
tour came next.

We found the secret garden!!

The livestock portion of the tour took us through a myriad of pens housing farm animals of earlier times.  Interesting to be sure, but apparently only the beauty of these horses had me pointing my camera at them … pigs and chickens not so much!
